TT Runner and MultiSport Watches

Almost a year after they were unveiled, the much-talked about Runner and Multi-Sport watches from GPS company TomTom are finally out in Singapore.

The TomTom Runner, which lets you track your runs both indoors and outdoors, will go for S$299. Although it is a GPS watch, it also has built-in sensors which TomTom says can track your strides as you sweat it out on a treadmill.

For S$349, the Multi-Sport comes with additional features, such a cadence sensor for bikers who want to track their journey up and down slopes, as well as a recorder for swimmers to calculate the efficiency of their strokes.

Both boast a variety of features that should make sporty users happy. Chief among them is the very slim design, with a profile of just 11.5mm. The watches also come with large displays and are said to run for up to 10 hours before needing a recharge.

Thinking of strapping on a smart watch for a jog, ride or swim? The better option might be a dedicated sports watch that does the job better.
