Yet another low-cost smartphone is turning up in Singapore, with the arrival of the Moto G today for an attractive S$298.
Sold through online marketplace Lazada, the phone comes with what’s expected for the price. There’s a 5-inch screen capable of 720p resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor running at 1.2GHz and basic 8GB storage.
Running Android 4.4 Kit Kat, the Moto G is aimed at folks who are looking for a clean-looking phone. It comes in black and white, which is as simple as it gets.
While it looks like an attractive deal, the problem with the Moto G is that the competition has already heated up for a while. It will come up immediately against the formidable Asus’ Zenfone 5 LTE, launched two months ago.
For the same S$299 price, the Taiwanese electronics maker offers 4G capabilities and also has more storage at 16GB. Like the Moto G, it also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip and a 720p screen.
