Archt (pronounced ark, short for architecture), a start-up known for its omni-directional speakers designed in Singapore, has come up with a smaller variant of its wireless sound box released last year.
The new Archt Mini will launch in the second quarter 2016 for US$299, after a second Kickstarter crowdfunding round to take place in March.
The 65-watt speaker promises 360-degree sound that is delivered wirelessly through its patented, multi-directional Sound Impact Array. The company also claims its Bass Impact Architecture delivers lows better than other speakers of the same size.
Encased in a full aluminium body with premium finishing, the Archt Mini supports Bluetooth 4.1 for easy connectivity with other smart devices, and claims to last up to 12 hours on a single charge.
“After the successful launch of the Archt One Wireless Audio System last year, unveiling Archt mini at CES 2016 demonstrates our company’s continued commitment to research and development of new acoustic technologies that re-imagine sound,” said Evan Foo, the chief executive officer of Archt Audio.
Archt made its debut last year after raising US$242,000 from over 500 backers on Kickstarter. The Archt One was promptly delivered in June 2015, available for sale through the Amazon Launchpad and various lifestyle and technology stores in Asia to favourable reviews (read our take on it).
